Ina L. Buffkin, 73, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2015, after a five year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones as her beautiful soul left us to join God.
Ina was born in Norfolk, Virginia on May 12, 1942 to Dallas and Helen Taylor. She was the first of two children and grew up with her parents and brother, Peter, in Norfolk. She attended Norview and Princess Anne High Schools and went on to get her Associate’s degree. She was married on November 30, 1963 to Captain Charles R. Buffkin. Over the next 15 years Ina and Charles moved many times across the United States and eventually returned to the Tidewater area with their five children in 1978.

Ina was an incredible wife, mother and grandmother. She was a genuine soul with a strong faith in God. She was incredibly dedicated to her family and always put her loved ones before herself. Her fight with cancer taught all those close to her just how strong and resilient she was. She was a true inspiration to all those around her. Ina was confident knowing that God was watching over her and that her life was in His hands. Words cannot express how much she will be missed, but we know she will forever be in our hearts and is watching over us every day.
