History and Literature
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation will present its annual program, “Food & Feasts of Colonial Virginia,” Thursday through Saturday at both Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center. The hands-on historical event includes demonstrations and activities and, for the first time this year, samples of historical dishes Friday and Saturday, while supplies last. A number of local authors will be signing their books at the William & Mary Bookstore over the weekend. Lynn Hosegood will sign “People and Places of Williamsburg” from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Also on Saturday will be Hugh Harris signing “Return of Bliss” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Shop Around
Visit the monthly flea market at the Historical Triangle Messmer Community Services on Saturday. From 7 a.m. to noon, vendors will have antiques, artwork, jewelry, crafts, quilts and collectibles.
Saturday is the last Williamsburg Farmers Market until a holiday market Dec. 13. There will be produce, eggs, baked goods and more from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Merchants Square.
Tribe Athletics
A Tribe double-header starts with the women’s basketball team at 2 p.m. Saturday. William & Mary will take on Longwood at Kaplan Arena. At 4:30 p.m., the men’s team will play against Wofford.
