Some James City County children might get an unusual phone call Dec. 9: one straight from the North Pole.
The county’s Parks and Recreation department will hold its annual “Santa Calling” program, where Santa and/or Mrs. Claus make personal phone calls to registered households with children ages 9 and younger.
Registration, which is due by Tuesday, includes room for guardians to fill out a child’s basic information along with favorite activities, toys and school subject. It also includes wish-list items and whether the child has visited with Santa this year.
There is also an option for calls in Spanish.

Calls will be between 5:45 and 8 p.m., but specific call times cannot be guaranteed.
