For two members of The Shack Band, whose tour brings them to town Saturday, the performance at The Corner Pocket will be a sort of homecoming.
Guitarist and singer Hunter Pease and Josh Crowley, who plays flute and saxophone with the group, were born and raised in the Williamsburg area.
Their Richmond-based band has been traveling the southern portion of the east coast to support its full-length, self-released album “America.” The Shack Band introduced the CD in August, which features a mix of jam, alternative, jazz, funk and other rock music styles.
The group also includes Andrew Gillespie on keyboards and vocals, Mason Owen on bass and vocals, and Bobby Hudson on drums. The quintet cites influences in Dave Matthews, Phish. Muddy Waters and Bob Marley.
“The driving force behind our making music is to produce something that I will be proud to share in 40 years and something that people will still feel connected to years down the line,” Crowley said in a release.
The band goes on at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Corner Pocket. Admission is $7.
