How to Identify Grasses
At the November 15 meeting of the John Clayton Chapter of the Native Plant Society, Dr. Doug Deberry will provide an easy-to-understand talk about grass identification. Dr. Deberry, a very entertaining speaker, is an Assistant Professor at VIMS (Virginia Institute of Marine Science) with many research interests and publications in ecology and environmental science.
The meeting is held at 6:45 pm at the York County Library on Rt 17 at Battle Road in Yorktown.
The Fungus Among Us
The monthly “Learn and Grow” educational series sponsored by the Williamsburg Botanical Garden will be on Saturday, November 17 from 10 to 11:30 a.m., in the Interpretive Center at Freedom Park
Join Helen Hamilton and Louise Menges for an entertaining and informative illustrated talk on those strangely-shaped white, tan, orange, yellow growths in the forest, especially in wet areas.
