York County’s Summer Fun Program recently presented “A Day in the Life of a Civil War Soldier” at its Seaford Elementary camp location.
Tim Green, education specialist with Endview Plantation, visited campers in July. The program included a presentation of reproduction uniforms and artifacts.
The living conditions endured by soldiers during the Civil War were a favorite topic of conversation, according to the county, and participants enjoyed the stories Green shared and the hands-on experience with items from a Civil War soldier’s backpack.
