RICHMOND — The CAA announced on Tuesday their 2024-25 conference schedule for women’s basketball.
All 14 CAA programs will play an 18-game conference schedule with nine at home and nine away. Schedule pairings for CAA play were released in August. The Tribe will play home-and-home with Hampton, Elon, Campbell, NC A&T and Northeastern, while also hosting Charleston, Hofstra, UNCW and Towson. W&M will travel to Delaware, Drexel, Monmouth and Stony Brook.
Games will be mostly played on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons, starting on Jan. 3 through March 8. The season will culminate with the 2025 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship, returning to the Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C., March 12- 16.
The Tribe will kick off their conference slate by hosting the two protected conference opponents they play twice every year, Hampton (Jan. 3) and Elon (Jan. 5).
W&M will then head to the northeast for three straight contests, at Stony Brook on Jan. 10, at Monmouth on Jan. 12 and at Northeastern on Jan. 19.
The Seahawks of UNCW will visit Kaplan Arena on Jan. 24 to start a home weekend for the Tribe. Towson will visit Williamsburg two days later on Jan. 26.
W&M’s second meeting with Elon will take place in North Carolina on Jan. 31 before the Tribe returns home to host Campbell on Feb. 2. The trip to Williamsburg will be the first ever for Campbell as members of the CAA, just joining the conference last season.
Ironically enough, for the second consecutive year, the Tribe will travel to play Hampton on Superbowl Sunday, Feb. 9. W&M took last year’s meeting on the day of the “big game” by a score of 65-55.
The following week the Tribe visits Philadelphia to play Drexel on Valentines Day, before closing out the road weekend with a matchup at Delaware on Feb. 16.
W&M will wrap February and head into March with four straight at Kaplan Arena, their longest homestand of the season. The Green and Gold will host NC A&T (Feb. 21), Charleston (Feb. 23), Northeastern (Feb. 28) and Hofstra (March 2) over that span.
The regular season will conclude with a road trip, first to NC A&T on March 6, followed by a visit to Campbell on March 8.
All CAA games will be broadcast on FloCollege (formerly FloHoops), as well as home non-conference games. The Tribe’s away contests will also feature a free online-radio broadcast via the Tribe Sports Network just as they did a year ago.
W&M kicks off their season on Nov. 4 traveling to Norfolk State. The home opener is Nov. 14 against Chowan.
