SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Led by seven standouts who earned all-conference honors, the William & Mary men’s gymnastics team placed fifth at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship hosted by Springfield on Saturday afternoon.
Navy claimed the team title with a 401.45 and was followed by Greenville (393.0), Springfield (392.05), Army (390.9), W&M (387.8) and Simpson (360.95).
In addition to posting its second-best overall team score this season, W&M also recorded a season-high 70.8 on vault, which nearly equaled a school record (70.9).
Sam Lee (parallel bars, 13.8) and Ricky Pizem (high bar, 13.3) highlighted the Tribe’s individual performances with second-place finishes, while Niko Greenly placed third on rings (13.3).
Garrett Kasiski (vault, 14.45; season high) and Samuel Smith (pommel horse, 13.5) garnered all-conference distinction on vault and pommel horse by placing tied for fourth and sixth, respectively.
A pair of W&M standouts — Aidan Cuy (75.0) and Gavin Zborowski (74.5) — also earned All-ECAC honors as all-arounders by posting the fifth and sixth-best scores, respectively, at the championship meet.
