WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary women’s soccer sophomore Nora Green-Orset was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
Green-Orset garnered CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors earlier this week after leading the Tribe to a 1-0-1 weekend to kick off the 2023 season. The center back played 186 out of 190 minutes as the Green and Gold recorded back-to-back shutouts to start a season for the first time since 2011.
Along with her defensive exploits, Green-Orset scored her first collegiate goal in the 74th minute at Temple, heading home a corner kick. On the weekend, she tallied three shots, all on goal.
Green-Orset and the Tribe return to action with two matches this week. W&M wraps up a three-match, season-opening road swing at Richmond on Thursday, Aug. 24. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+. The Tribe opens the home schedule against A-10 foe VCU on Sunday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m. The contest will be broadcast on FloFC.
