WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary men’s soccer freshman Aidan Morrison was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Preseason Freshman All-America Team on Wednesday.
The rookie midfielder was one of 11 freshmen recognized nationally by the soccer website. Top Drawer Soccer ranked Morrison No. 160 nationally in the Class of 2023.
The Denver, N.C., native signed a USL Academy contract with Charlotte Independence last year. He saw action in League One and the U.S Open Cup for Charlotte. Morrison earned ECNL First Team All-Conference honors and was named to the ECNL National Selection Game in South Carolina and Virginia. He was a North Carolina All-State selection at East Lincoln in 2022 after scoring 23 goals to go with 10 assists in 12 games.
Morrison and the Tribe kick off the 2023 season when it hosts Binghamton on Thursday, Aug. 24. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field, and the game will be broadcast on FloFC.
