WILLIAMSBURG — Two Rivers Country Club announced the results of its recent 12th Annual Two Rivers Senior Invitational held Oct. 16-18.
The 54-hole medal play event included three divisions: Seniors (ages 50 to 64); Super Seniors (ages 65-69) and Legends (ages 70 and over).
The winner of the Seniors division was Jon Hurst of Fredericksburg. He clenched victory with a two-under-par score of 214 (68-74-72). Virginia Golf Hall of Famer David Partridge of Manakin-Sabot won the Super Senior Division with an eight-over-par score of 224 (75-73-76) and Don Donatoni of Malvern, Pennsylvania, won the Legends Division with a one-over-par score of 217 (72-72-73).
A full field of 72 top senior amateur golfers from 13 different states competed on the Tom Fazio-designed course that winds through The Governor’s Land residential community and finishes along the banks of the James and Chickahominy rivers. This year’s invite-only field was limited to 72 contestants with an established handicap index of 6.0 or less and was selected by the Two Rivers Senior Invitational Committee based on WAGR and VSGA rankings.
“It’s an honor for our club and a testimony to the beauty and quality of our course that we had such an elite list of 72 players this year,” said Chris Warring, Two Rivers’ PGA Golf Professional. “Our course layout, spectacular course conditions, and the warm hospitality of the Two Rivers members and staff are the reasons this event has become so popular.”
The winners and top finishers in each division received trophies, gift certificates to the Two Rivers Pro Shop, and were awarded points on the GolfWeek national ranking program and the VSGA ranking program (if from Virginia).
