Softball: Tabb Routs Bruton in Offensive Explosion

Tabb scored 10 runs in the second inning en route to a 13-0 blowout on the road against Bruton on Wednesday.

The breakout inning for Tabb started with a two-run single by Alyssa Lowe. Later in the inning, Kendall Wooddell delivered a two-run double into left field.

Ashley Adams kept the run going with an RBI single to left field. On the next at-bat, Wooddell scored off a fielding error by Bruton.

Later in the inning, Emily Gavin reached base on a fielder’s choice that also scored Adams. Leah Overbay smacked an RBI single to center field, which was followed by Lowe hitting an RBI single that gave Tabb a 10-0 lead.

The Tigers netted three more runs in the top of the third inning, taking a commanding 13-0 lead over the Panthers.

Tigers pitcher Alyssa Lowe kept Bruton off the board, allowing two hits in the complete-game shutout.

Tabb (7-6) will host Lafayette on Friday, while Bruton (1-13) will travel to play New Kent on Thursday.
