York’s boys tennis season has gone according to plan thus far, which continued Thursday with a commanding 9-0 road win against Bruton.

The Falcons were, for the most part, speedy with their singles wins against the Panthers.

York’s No. 2 Walter Buck and No. 5 James Mollenkamp each earned victories in 35 minutes to put the Falcons on the board.

Ten minutes later, York’s No. 3 Erik Moulton and No. 4 Denis Liu capped off their victories against Bruton’s Daanish Fiaz and Dylan Shannon, respectively.

With roughly 50 minutes eclipsed, York’s No. 1 Josh McFadden finished off Bruton’s No. 1 Ian Sadler 6-2, 6-0.

The final singles match between York’s No. 6 Cameron Wainwright and Bruton’s Andrew McCordy lasted quite a bit longer than any other singles matches, concluding in about one hour, 15 minutes.

Doubles play was also expeditious for the Falcons, who won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by final scores of 8-1 and 8-3, respectively.

The No. 1 doubles match was called early as Bruton’s pairing of Sadler and Fiaz had to retire because of an injury.

York (5-0) faces its biggest match of the season Monday at home against Jamestown, while Bruton (5-3) will visit Warhill on Monday.

Doubles was more of the same, as Lafayette put up a decent fight but was ultimately overmatched against a hot Grafton team.

Grafton (6-1) will try to extend its win streak when the Clippers visit Warhill next Wednesday. Lafayette (3-3) will look to snap a three-match losing skid on the road against Woodside on Monday.
