The Virginia High School League released its updated high school football rankings Wednesday.

Lafayette (6-0) is the top Historic Triangle in the Group 4A East rankings, sitting in third place with a rating of 26.

Lafayette is three rating points behind top-ranked Lake Taylor. Both are the only remaining undefeated teams in Group 4A East.

Throughout their six wins this season, the Rams have averaged 47 points scored while allowing an average of 13 points. Lafayette had its biggest challenge of the season last week from Grafton during a 37-28 win.

Grafton (4-2) currently sits tied for ninth place in Group 4A East with a rating of 22.5. The Clippers currently have a 3-2 record in the Bay Rivers District with losses to top teams Poquoson and Lafayette. Grafton has proven to have a stingy defense, holding opponents to 14 points or less in all four of its wins.

Jamestown (0-5) is last in Group 4A East with a rating of 14 after losing a 28-27 home game against New Kent last Friday. The closest team to the Eagles is Great Bridge, which currently has a rating of 16 despite not winning any games.

In Group 3A East, York (4-2) currently sits in fifth place with a rating of 20.83. After a season-opening loss against second-ranked James Monroe, the Falcons have won four of their last five games with their only misstep a 40-0 loss against Lafayette.

Tabb (3-3) is tied with Booker T. Washington for 11th in Group 3A East with a rating of 17.83. The Tigers are coming off a 41-7 loss to Smithfield and have allowed an average of 46 points in their three losses.

Warhill (0-5) is tied for last place in Group 3A East with Southampton with 13.2 points. While the Lions are coming off a stinging double-overtime loss to Poquoson last Friday, Warhill showed significant signs of improvement against one of the best Bay Rivers District teams.

Finally, in Group 2A East, Bruton (1-5) is tied with Arcadia for 14th place with a rating of 14.33. After a season-opening win against King William, which currently sits in 10th place in Group 2A East, the Panthers have lost five consecutive games by an average score of roughly 24-15.
