Boys Soccer: Walsingham Shut Out by Cape Henry

Kelau SmithThe Walsingham Academy boys soccer team struggled to contain Cape Henry during a 4-0 road loss Tuesday.

Cape Henry got on the board midway through the first half when Connor Somers scored from roughly 15 yards away for the game’s opening goal.

Trailing 1-0 after halftime, Walsingham Academy had three breakaway scoring opportunities in the second half. While the scoring chances were there, the Trojans were unable to capitalize.

Conversely, Cape Henry found the back of the net three times before the final buzzer sounded.

Walsingham (7-6-1) has now lost back-to-back games and will look to rebound during a Thursday road contest against Norfolk Collegiate.

Hampton Roads Academy Tops Norfolk Christian

Hampton Roads Academy notched its fourth consecutive win after defeating Norfolk Christian 3-0 at home Tuesday.

The Navigators took a 1-0 lead in the first half after Patrick Phillips found the back of the net. HRA carried that 1-0 lead into the half.

HRA got a pair of second-half goals, one from Drew Scott and another from Jalen Johnson. Sam Wash also added an assist in the victory.

The Navigators (9-2) are looking to continue their hot streak during a home game against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on Wednesday.
