Eight Historic Triangle cross-country teams — four boys teams and four girls teams — are ranked in MileStat’s Virginia top 50 teams.
The MileStat team rankings are formulated based on scoring similar to what is used in traditional cross-country meets.
A runner with a faster time will place higher in the rankings, which will generate fewer points for their team. In cross-country, the team with the lowest score is the winner.
Grafton’s boys cross-country team is currently the top ranked team in the state of Virginia, with 243 combined team points.
The Clippers are led by Price Owens, who currently has the 10th best time in the state with a time of 15:42. Dylan Lorio-MacNamara is 22nd in the state with a best time of 15:57.80. Miles Owens is ranked 31st in the state after posting a time of 16:02.6, while Brandon Tackling (16:24.40) and Dylan Comer (16:29.80) are ranked 83rd and 97th in the state, respectively.
Warhill’s boys cross-country team is ranked seventh in the state with 454 points. The Lions are led by Daniel Cretney, who posted the 19th best time in the state with a time of 15:52.50.
Matthew Hrncir is 61st in the state with a top time of 16:15.10, while Spencer Conti is ranked 101st with a 16:30.40. Braden Troy Wilson is 119th with a time of 16:39.10, and Hezekiah Hayes is 154th with a best time of 16:50.30.
Lafayette currently sits in 10th place in the state with 573 points and are led by Konrad Steck, who is sixth in the state with a top time of 15:29.90.
Liam Bonga is 66th with a time of 16:18.10, while Cade Moreno is 80th in a time of 16:22.30. John Barton is 171st in a time of 16:53.40, and Marcos Piggott is 250th with a personal record of 17:09.80.
Tabb is the final Historic Triangle team ranked in the top 50, sitting 18th with 708 team points.
The Tigers are currently led by 21st overall Preston Klekar, who posted a time of 15:54.80. Jacob Kaminer sits 76th in the state with a time of 16:21.80, while Andre Jones is 87th with a personal record of 16:26.20. Phillip Arcara (17:03.20) is 221st in the state, and Nicholas Olson (17:18.50) is 303rd in the state.
In the girls rankings, Grafton is the top-ranked Historic Triangle team in seventh place with 409 team points.
Maya Caden is 24th in the state with a time of 18:49.60, while her teammate Kira Freedman is 34th with a time of 19:03.90. Tacoma Mendelsohn is 69th with a best time of 19:28.20, while Samantha Wanderer is 140th with a time of 19:56.50. Grafton’s final scorer is Sung Park, who sits 142nd with a personal best time of 19:56.70.
Tabb is currently 11th in the state with 638 total points. The Tigers are led by Lindsey Blanks, who currently has the third best time in the state of 17:47, while her sister Lauren Blanks is 36th in the state with a time of 19:05.80. Kallie Wolf posted a time of 19:51.60, which is good for 129th. Emma Stephens (20:25) and Kassandra Aulenbach (20:43) are ranked 207th and 263rd in the state, respectively.
Lafayette is one spot behind Tabb in 12th place with 716 team points. Delaney Savedge (18:24.50) is 12th in the state, Brooke Crookston (19:01.40) is 31st and Summer Chambers (19:09.10) is 42nd overall. Serenity Chavez is 139th in the state with a time of 19:56.40, while Jessica Link is 492nd with a best time of 21:33.20.
The only Historic Triangle team ranked in the top 50 not from the Bay Rivers District is Walsingham Academy, which is ranked 35th with 1,271 points.
Walsingham is led by Camryn Mann, who is 116th in the state with a time of 19:48.46, while her teammate Delaney Riggs is 119th with a personal record of 19:49.10. Frankie Riggs is 315th in the state with a best time of 20:53.58, and Grace Vidlak posted a time of 21:00.11 that places her 344th in the state. Emma Lobash rounds out the Trojan scorers in 377th place with a time of 21:06.84.
