Chloe Wilmoth logged a double-double with 15 assists and 13 kills during Warhill’s 25-19, 13-25, 25-19, 25-22 home win against New Kent on Tuesday.
After taking the first set comfortably 25-19, Warhill saw New Kent answer back with a resounding 25-13 win in the second set.
Warhill answered back during the next two sets, winning 25-19 and 25-22 to secure the match win.
Cori Clifton had a big match for the Lions, logging 18 assists, nine kills and four digs. Jewel Walters logged a team-high 19 digs and Nicole Mulligan chipped in seven kills.
The Lions (4-3) have now won back-to-back matches and will look to extend that streak when they travel to take on Bruton on Sept. 29.

Lafayette Outpaces Tabb in Straight Sets
Lafayette snapped a two-match losing streak when the Rams earned a 25-21, 25-21, 25-19 road win against Tabb on Tuesday.
Led by Abby Oren, who finished the match with 17 kills and 12 digs, Lafayette took the first two sets by a final of 25-21.
The Rams continued to outpace the Tigers, winning the third set by six points.
Assisting Oren in the win for Lafayette was Abby Goetsch, who had 39 assists, and Kelly Carroll with 18 kills and 11 digs.
For Tabb, Abby Carney had a standout game with a double-double of 23 assists, 13 digs, five kills and an ace. Maddi Dadez had 12 kills and eight digs, while Audre’ana Ellis chipped in seven kills, five digs and three aces.
Lafayette (5-3) will continue its season at home against Bruton on Thursday, while Tabb (2-4) will host Warhill on Thursday.

Bruton’s volleyball team was unable to overcome strong net play by a taller Poquoson team during Tuesday’s 25-13, 25-20, 25-19 loss at home.
“They pretty much dominated us at the net,” said Bruton Coach Kevin Doloresco. “Our serves were off a little bit, but other than that we played a pretty consistent game.”
The Panthers struggled in the first set, falling 25-13 before putting up more of a fight in the final two sets. Despite improved play, Bruton still was unable to take a set from Poquoson and dropped the final two sets 25-20 and 25-19.
Bruton was led by Gabby Calloway with 10 digs, eight kills and three aces. Mykael Johnson had nine digs, five kills and two aces, while Alexa Woolson added eight assists and two aces.
The Panthers (2-7) have lost three out of their last four matches and will look to reverse the trend when they travel to play Lafayette on Thursday.

Jamestown Cruises Past Smithfield
Jamestown had no issues getting past Smithfield on the road Tuesday, sweeping the Packers 25-11, 25-9, 25-14.
The Eagles were able to play all of their players during the resounding win.
Jamestown cruised during all three sets with the most competitive set decided by nine points.
Ellie Popelka paced Jamestown with a team-high 16 kills, while Maria Esch added 12 kills. Emma Schriner had seven kills, and Genevieve Allison chipped in 10 digs.
The Eagles have now won four consecutive matches and improve to 10-1 on the season. Jamestown will face Grafton on the road Thursday with a chance to extend its win streak.

Well-rounded performances helped Grafton ease past York on the road Tuesday 25-7, 25-16, 25-21.
Grafton’s Brooke Parker recorded 10 kills, six digs and three blocks, while her teammate Rachel Blitt added 10 kills, seven digs, three blocks and two aces.
The Clippers (8-4) will continue their season with a big match against Jamestown on Thursday.
Meanwhile, York (0-5) will look to snap its five-match losing streak when they travel to take on Smithfield Thursday.

WCA Outlasts Isle of Wight Academy
The Williamsburg Christian Academy volleyball team managed to hold off a tough Isle of Wight Academy team, winning 25-15, 27-25, 31-29 at home Tuesday.
While the Eagles took the first set with ease, the next two were anything but easy.
Led by Patricia Davie and Nicole Musfelt, Williamsburg Christian Academy edged Isle of Wight 27-25 in the second set before holding on to win a marathon third set 31-29.
The Eagles (7-4) will continue their season when they host Denbigh Baptist on Sept. 29.
