In the midst of an outstanding season in which she has produced impressive offensive numbers, York’s Lia Batchelor has been voted the 3A Colonial Rivers Conference 25 Player of the Year.
Batchelor, who guided the Falcons to first place in the Bay Rivers District this spring, is batting .591 on the year — more than 200 points higher than her .341 mark last season — with a .609 on-base percentage and an eye-popping .955 slugging percentage. She leads the Falcons in nearly every offensive category, including hits (39), runs (34) and RBI (25).
Batchelor was joined on the first team by teammates Maddie Rogerson (INF), Kayla Dianna (OF) and catcher Devon Smith, while York’s Amy Hunter was named the conference Coach of the Year.
Warhill’s Colby Norris and Bridget Henzel were also voted to the all-conference first team, which is listed below.
