Lafayette sophomore Reeves Trott, who helped lead the Rams to the inaugural 3A Colonial Rivers Conference 25 championship last week, has been named the conference Player of the Year.
Trott, who has scored half of Lafayette’s goals this season — the Rams have scored 62, with 31 off the foot or head of Trott — was one of seven Lafayette players to receive first distinction as forward Jason Eckenrode, midfielder Noor Rahman, defenders Denzel Speed and brothers Anthony and Andrew Vaccaro along with goalkeeper Volodymyr Humenyuk.
York, which lost to Lafayette 2-0 in the conference final, put three players on the first team — sophomore forward Bailey McClure, sophomore midfielder Max Poelker and senior defender Hunter Strack — as the Bay Rivers District players occupied 11 of the 16 total spots on the first team.
Lafayette’s Brian Sorrell, who amassed 150 career wins earlier this season, was voted Coach of the Year.
