York Routs Hopewell 13-0

York erupted for 13 runs on 14 hits to win its 4A South Region softball quarterfinal easily over host Hanover, 13-0, on Monday.

Pitcher Molly Rogerson had a no-hitter working before being relieved after six innings, as Hopewell never threatened to make a game of it after the Falcons (19-3) opened the contest with four runs in the top of the first inning.

Lia Batchelor, who on Monday was announced the 3A Colonial Rivers Conference 25 Player of the Year, led off the game with a home run and finished 2-4 with two runs and two RBI apiece. Rogerson also went 2-4 with a home run and three RBI to help her own cause inside the pitching circle.
