WILLIAMSBURG— Liz Moore & Associates of Williamsburg will be hosting its annual Cupcake Wars on Feb. 13 in support of The Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughter, CHKD.
The first cupcake war for Liz Moore & Associates began at the Newport News office with only a few hundred cupcakes. The cupcakes were all baked by the staff as a kind of bake sale and raised nearly $500 for CHKD. From there, the competition began to heat up as the displays became more elaborate and the themes more carefully curated. The result was increased popularity, and the donations doubled.
From there, Liz decided to award a first, second, and third-place prize for the most creative cupcakes, which turned the event into a friendly all-out baking war among agents and staff. The fun only increased as the company grew and added more branch offices, competing to see who could sell the most cupcakes and raise the most money for charity.
The Williamsburg office has several large teams this year, as well as some individuals who will be strategizing in order to raise the most funds in order to help CHKD.
The cupcakes will be on display on Feb. 13 at the Williamsburg Liz Moore office on Discovery Park Boulevard. The cupcakes are all being sold at a donation only, so there is no minimum or maximum requirement for payment.
“Cupcake Wars day is absolutely my favorite day of the year,” says Moore. “It is such a fun event to watch the agents get so creative and competitive—who would have guessed that real estate agents could create such incredible cupcakes? Having the offices filled with our favorite clients, with everyone coming together to support our favorite local charities, is a special treat.”
“You just walk around and look at all the cool themes, and it’s also a great way for our client to come and for us to be in the community, say hi, and catch up,” said Courtney Martinez, one of the participating agents at the Williamsburg office. “It’s just a really fun time for us to all get together and collaborate.”
According to a social media post made on the Liz Moore Instagram, last year’s Cupcake War raised $23,000 for the various charities across all offices. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 13.
Donations can also be made online for people unable to attend the event. For more information about Liz Moore & Associates, please visit the official website.
