Ferris’ Day Off (A Pup’s Adventure in the Historic Triangle): Nautical Dog

WILLIAMSBURG — Part beagle, part foxhound and all attitude, Ferris Bueller (no, not THAT Bueller but, definitely named after the 80s icon) is a one-year-old pup who loves to head out on adventures and explore new places and meet people.

Ferris was adopted from Homes Fur Hounds when his parents became foster failures while nursing the sick pup back to health when he was only three months old.

As he grew, Ferris was allowed to get out of the house, initially following his big dog-sister onto the trails where he took to hiking like a seasoned pro.

Now, he visits parks, beaches, breweries and any other places where doggies are allowed. WYDaily is set to follow Ferris’ quest for the best dog-friendly places our area has to offer.

The first stop is Nautical Dog, which is always a Ferris favorite. This locally-owned pet store has been a Williamsburg staple since 2006. Nautical Dog carries a variety of pet supplies and food in addition to being home of Schwartzy’s Cat Cove and hosting a variety of events throughout the year.

If you have a dog-friendly suggestion you would like Ferris to consider visiting, please email his mom. Hounds are not very good at responding.
