Yorktown Celebrates the Season With Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

YORKTOWN — Yorktown is kicking off its holiday celebrations with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 3.

The community tradition that dates back to 1945 features the 20-foot artificial commercial “Giant Everest Fir” tree placed in Riverwalk Landing, 331 Water Street.

The community is invited to gather at the Yorktown Victory Monument by 6:30 p.m. for live music, including performance from Fifes and Drums of York Town.

The celebration will continue to Riverwalk Landing for the tree lighting ceremony at 7:30 p.m.

Attendees are also encouraged to stick around for a visit from Santa and Mrs. Clause at the event.
