Yorktown to Host Two Festivals in One Day

YORKTOWN — The Watermen’s Museum, 309 Water Street, is set to host the Yorktown Maritime Heritage Festival and the first ever Yorktown Sea Shanty Festival on the Yorktown Waterfront on Saturday, Nov. 13.

These free all day events include the York County Maritime Market at Riverwalk Landing, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and a re-enactment of the 1774 Yorktown Tea Party starting at noon at the Freight Shed, 331 Water Street.

There will also be a John Smith schallop exhibit as well as other living history exhibits at the York County Historical Museum, 301 Main Street.

The Sea Shanty Festival will go from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on four different stages along the Yorktown Waterfront. The shows will feature local musicians such as the Fifes and Drums of York Town, Bob Zentz, Baxter Haringe and Clan McCool.
