Yvonne Virginia Howard (Vincent Funeral Home)

Yvonne Virginia Howard, 92, of Charles City, VA, entered eternal rest on Friday, August 7, 2026. She was the first born of four children, to the late Warren R. and Mary W. Jones.

At the age of 12, Yvonne accepted Christ and was a lifelong member of St. John Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended services until her health began to decline. She worked at various manufacturing companies including the Richmond Headwear Company, until her retirement.

Yvonnes legacy of Caring for and giving to others will live on in the many lives of those she touched. Her passion was spending time with family, friends, and acquaintances. She looked forward to the “Wednesday Boys”, (Jonathan Miles, Wilson Westbrook, Joe Lewis Jones, Donald “Cokie” Charity, & Rodney Bradby),visits every week. She prepared delicious meals for them and had great conversations.

Giving to others was what she lived by. Her advice to everyone was “If you have anything, give it away, it has served me well in my lifetime.” Yvonne was famously known for her “Goody Bowl” which contained chips, cookies, and cakes, with sodas on the side. Anyone that visited her home was required to take something from the bowl before they left. She loved music, shopping, and doing word search puzzles.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard; her daughter, Regina Warren, and three siblings, Joe Lewis Jones (Loretta), Carroll Jones, Sr. (Marian), and Arlene Jones (Harold).

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Rodney Bradby (Crystal), and James Howard (Kay); step daughters, Jeniece Howard (Issac), Joyce Jackson (Mark), and stepson, Reynard Allen (Pam).

She also leaves grandchildren, Bryant Jones, Torie Jones, Ashley Warren, La’Cherel Richardson, Jamie Howard, Jalen Howard, and Evan Howard; numerous great grandchildren, a host of nieces (three special, Marsha Percy, Mia Percy, Kim Jones); nephews, cousins, and devoted friends, Donald “Cokie” Charity, Carl “Bitterman” Whitehead, Jonathan and Mabel Miles, Joyce Carter, Ridgely Minter, Gil Carter, Jr., Katrina Jones, Theron Jones, Frances Miffon, Mary Jefferson, and Eldridge “Skeeter” Charity.
