Judith Gay DeSanto, 84, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Born on May 18, 1942, in Mechanic Falls, Maine, Judith was the daughter of Dorothy Irving Pulsifer and Elton Pulsifer. She proudly served her country in the United States Air Force before earning her associate’s degree. Judith built a career as an accountant and also dedicated her time to serving her community through the Dale City Volunteer Fire Department.

Judith approached life with a spirited heart and an infectious personality. She was a bright light to all who knew her—spunky, kind, and full of warmth. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether reading a good book, completing puzzles, tending to her garden, baking for those she loved, or spending time at the beach. Her generous spirit and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.

Her daughter, Teresa, along with her son-in-law and two grandchildren, lovingly cared for Judith. Together, they took on the profoundly difficult yet deeply honorable responsibility of bringing Judith into their home and caring for her with unwavering devotion until her final breath.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Irving Pulsifer and Elton Pulsifer, and her beloved husband, Ellery Donald DeSanto Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa and her husband, Jim Verschueren, and her grandchildren, Tyler and Téa Iverson; along with her sons, Ellery Donald DeSanto III (Alex) and Robert Elton DeSanto (Debra); and her brothers, Steve Pulsifer and John Pulsifer (Peg).

The family will hold a private memorial service to honor and remember Judith’s life.

Judith will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her generous heart, and the joy she found in life’s simple moments. Her bright spirit and enduring legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
