It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of Frances Etier Dillon, age 85, on August 9, 2026, at her home in Williamsburg, Virginia surrounded by her family, loved ones, and pets.
Frances was born on December 3, 1940, in Magdalena, New Mexico to Elden and Mary Jane Etier. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Dana Bill Dillon and her grandson Samuel Dana Dillon.
She is survived by her stepsister Margaret Hallford, and her children Dana “Bob” Dillon and his wife Kelly of Fairfax VA, Mary Dillon and her partner Fred Mladen of Williamsburg VA, and Brian Dillon and his wife Amy of Lawrence KS. Her grandchildren Nathalie, Katherine, John, Anne, Gabriel and Hannah were the lights of her life.
Affectionally known to her family as Mimi, she was the loving pillar of the happy clan. Frances and Dana were teenage sweethearts and became an Army family, traveling the world to include West Berlin, Germany, London UK, Panama Canal Zone, and numerous posts throughout the United States.
Frances will be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. A date and time will be announced when it is available.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Children’s Mercy Hospital.
