Joseph Anthony Martinez, 45, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2026. Born on May 27,1981, Joseph lived a life defined by love, loyalty, hard work, generosity, and an unwavering smile that brightened the lives of everyone who knew him.
Joseph was the beloved son of Hector Raul Martinez, Sr. and Bonnie G. Martinez. He was a devoted fiancé to Angela Carol Selby and a loving father to his daughters Eva Leigh and Hailey Lea-Ann Martinez. He was also the proud father of his infant son, Joseph Lewis Martinez, who preceded him in death. While their time together was far too short, Joseph carried his son’s memory in his heart always.
He is survived by his siblings Hector Raul Martinez, Jr., Alina Martinez Wiggins, and Frank Guy Watson, Jr. and his wife Lori Michelle Watson. His niece Destiny Renee Martinez and his nephews Calope Joseph Martinez, Christian Raul Martinez, Frank (Frankie) Guy Watson, III, and Luke Marshall Watson. Joseph is preceded in death by his mother Beverly Joan Overton, brother Francisco Mario Martinez, grandparents, Delia Joseph Tarabay and Edward Charles Farmer, and grandparents, Joan and Herbert Overton.
Joseph was the proud owner of Joe’s Roof Cleaning, a business he built through hard work, honesty, and dedication. His commitment to doing quality work earned him the respect of his customers and the success he worked so hard to achieve.
Outside of work, Joseph’s greatest passion was fishing. Those who knew him often joked that he had a horseshoe tied to his fishing pole because he always seemed to catch the biggest bass and more fish than anyone else on the water. Whether it was skill, luck, or a little of both, fishing wasn’t just a hobby to Joseph…It was where he found peace and happiness.
Joseph’s greatest gift, however, was his kind heart. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. Helping others wasn’t something he did occasionally, it was simply who he was. He found genuine happiness with his small acts of kindness, expecting nothing in return. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends, a loving son, a devoted fiancé, a proud father, a caring brother, and an uncle who adored his niece and nephews. His kindness, passion, and genuine smile made everyone feel welcome, valued and loved.
If you were lucky enough to know Joe, you knew you always had someone in your corner. Whether you needed a helping hand, a fishing partner, or simply someone to make you smile, he was always there. He was like a gentle giant with his strength being matched only by his compassion, which brought comfort to those around him.
Joseph’s passing has left a void that can never be filled. His death was sudden and heartbreaking, and his family will forever miss his laugh, his smile, his generosity, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. Although our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every moment we shared with him. His legacy will live on through his daughters, his family, his friends, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness.
