Robert “Bob” Rolan Lynch, 96, of Newport News, VA passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 on his 75th wedding anniversary. Bob married Megan Evans on August 11, 1951. Megan preceded him in death in 2016.
Bob, Megan and their 5 children moved to Newport News in 1964 from Denver, CO. He retired in 1989 from Planning Research Corporation, Aerospace Technology Division in Hampton, VA. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Throughout his life he enjoyed flying model airplanes, boating, traveling and golf.
Bob is survived by his 5 children, Debbie Lane (Jeff) of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Bob Lynch, Jr. (Betsy) of Albemarle, NC, Mary Allen of Hampton, VA, Kathy Johnson (Kurt Oest) of Hayes, VA and Julie Gleason (Randy Wyatt) of Hampton, VA; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sandra Evans; nephew, Robert Evans and niece, Joanna Evans-Collett.
A private graveside service was held at Peninsula Memorial Park.
