Jeffrey Roy Robbins (Altmeyer Funeral Home)

Jeffrey Robbins, 72, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, following a prolonged battle with dementia.

Born on June 24, 1954, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey was the son of Warren Robbins and Betty Sobers Romig. He spent his early years living in several Pennsylvania communities, including Catasauqua (class of 1972), Gettysburg, and Boiling Springs. Most recently, he lived in Ann Arbor, where he resided since 1996.

On May 6, 1989, Jeffrey married Lorraine (Jemiola) Robbins, in Hershey, Pennsylvania. They shared more than 37 years together.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Warren Robbins; his mother, Betty Sobers Romig; and his stepfather, Frederic Romig.

He is remembered by Lorraine; his children, Sheila Robbins Tighe (Aiden), Brittany Pienta (Michael), and Jeffrey Robbins (Abby); and his seven wonderful grandchildren: Logan, Keira, Leah, Emma, Anna, Liam, and Brooklyn. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy (Robbins) Kline (Jamie) and extended family members and friends who will remember him always.

Jeffrey earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Penn State University and later received a Master of Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University. He built a distinguished career as a Director of Engineering and Research & Development for automotive suppliers in the Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and Detroit, Michigan areas. His work provided opportunities for extensive international travel, taking him to destinations across the globe. He was admired for his intelligence, curiosity, and ability to converse knowledgeably on a wide range of subjects. Friends and colleagues often referred to him as a “Renaissance Man,” a testament to his broad awareness and interest in learning.

Outside of his career, Jeffrey loved taking walks, playing with dogs, boating on Lake Erie, and snow skiing with his family. He was a Master Diver who was passionate about scuba diving. Jeff and Lorraine’s last vacation together was in Maui in December 2025, where he enjoyed snorkeling with the sea turtles. Jeffrey rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his children from the sidelines, proudly driving them regularly to practices and games throughout Michigan and beyond. His unwavering support will always be remembered.

A private memorial service will be held in the near future in Michigan near one of Jeffrey’s favorite places in Lake Erie, where family will gather to celebrate his life and honor his memory.

The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
