Peggy Jean Hughes, born on December 6, 1935, in Gloucester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 90.
Peggy dedicated her career to caring for others as a Charge Aide at Eastern State Hospital, where she was known for her compassion and commitment to the well-being of her patients and colleagues.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Marie Green, her cherished daughter Betty Jo Coberly, and her beloved sons Ronnie, Albert, Russell, and Richard.
Peggy leaves behind her devoted husband, Jack F. Hughes, who stood by her side for many years. She is also survived by her loving children, Peggy Lauderman, Debbie Tsitsidopoulos, and Jessie Coberly Jr., as well as her many treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Peggy Jean Hughes will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth and dedication to her family and community will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
