Ruby “Faye” Boone Curl, 79, of Norfolk, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Faye was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Lee Boone and Ruby Jackson Evans Boone. She lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, faith, and devotion to her family and community.

Faye shared a beautiful love story with her husband, David Curl. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories over 57 wonderful years of marriage. Their enduring partnership was a testament to commitment, friendship, and unwavering love.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, David Curl; her brother, Bobby Boone and his wife, Jennifer; their sons, James and Aaron; her daughters, Beth Emerson and her husband, B.J., and Jennifer Thompson and her husband, Bill Fruit; her beloved grandchildren, Michelle Stafford, Cody Thompson, Max Thompson, Jordan Emerson, and Emily Iorio; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Xander and Scarlett Coren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved granddaughter, Alexia Thompson, whose memory remained forever close to her heart.

Faye dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a nurse. She spent many years serving patients as a medical-surgical nurse at DePaul Hospital, where her compassion, skill, and gentle spirit touched countless lives. Nursing was more than a profession for Faye—it was a calling that reflected her caring nature and servant’s heart.

A woman of strong faith, Faye was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk. Her faith guided her throughout her life and was evident in the love and kindness she extended to everyone she met.

Faye also enjoyed many hobbies and friendships through her involvement with the Cape Henry Model A Ford Club, Colonial Model A Ford Club, Mid-Atlantic VMCCA, and Tidewater Region AACA. These organizations brought her great joy and allowed her to share her enthusiasm for antique automobiles with fellow enthusiasts and friends.

She graduated from Granby High School and later completed the nursing program at DePaul Hospital, beginning a career that would positively impact so many lives.

Faye will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the immense love she had for her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, caring sister, and treasured friend. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Norfolk. Interment will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
