Martha Lee Ward, born on April 17, 1954, in Massachusetts, passed away peacefully from natural causes on May 31, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 72.
Martha was self employed for several years cleaning and caring for homes of many clients, always adding a special touch before leaving, a flower, personalized hand towel or knickknack . She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly relishing the warmth of summer. She cherished the moments spent visiting her parents, often donning her favorite flip flops as she basked in the sun’s embrace.
Martha was a woman who preferred to march to the beat of her own drum. She lived life on her own terms, maybe a bit unconventional, but she still had a good heart.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Donald and Leatrice; her sister, Norma; and her aunt, Vivian. Martha leaves behind her family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Kristi, Mark, and Michael; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth; her brother, Don and her cousins, Mary, Kathy and Shelly.
A memorial service to celebrate Martha’s life will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, located at 5033 Rouse Drive in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
