Samuel P. Truini, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born in Toronto, Ohio, on November 18, 1942, Samuel was the son of Samuel P. Truini and Matilda Kovarik Truini. He spent many years working for Weirton Steel and was known as a hardworking, dependable man who took pride in providing for his family.

Samuel proudly served his country in the United States Army and often shared stories from his Army days in Panama, where he met Betty, the love of his life. Their 61 years together were filled with love, devotion, and family.

He was a graduate of Jefferson Union High School and remained a proud Ohio State Buckeyes football fan (Go Buckeyes!). Samuel was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, fishing, yardwork, and hunting. He was also a fan of classic westerns starring John Wayne and loved listening to Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, and old country music. One of his greatest joys was traveling to Italy and meeting his extended family there. Samuel was also a dedicated member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Bloomingdale, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Matilda Truini; his sisters, Margaret and Nancy; and his brothers, Louie and Ronnie.

Samuel leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 61 years, Betty Truini; his brothers, George, Joseph, and Jim; his children, Nancy, Jacqueline Winzeler (Curt), Michael Truini (Sharon), and Samuel Truini (Kemyt); eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice House of Williamsburg in Samuel P. Truini’s memory.
