Matthew Mark Masterson, a devoted family man and a true jack of all trades, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 56. Born on June 2, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan, Matthew lived a life full of passion, creativity, and dedication.
A retired professional in the HVAC industry, Matthew was known for his hard-working nature and his ability to solve any problem with grace and ingenuity. His career mirrored his personal philosophy: to approach every challenge with perseverance and skill, ensuring that comfort and warmth were always within reach for those he served.
Growing up in Michigan, Matthew inherited a love for automobiles from his father, a General Motors Executive worker. This passion for cars fueled his curiosity and hands-on approach to life, as he often spent hours working under the hood, transforming visions into reality. His fascination with computers allowed him to embrace technology’s evolution, making him a well-rounded individual who navigated both mechanical and digital landscapes with ease.
An ardent fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Matthew’s love for hockey was infectious. He cherished moments shared with friends and family while cheering on his favorite team, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship both on and off the ice.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Masterson; his sons, Evan Masterson (Sydney), and Noah Masterson; and his daughter, Grace Masterson.
