Edith Marie (Evans) Trivette, 92, born in Mountain City, TN, entered eternity on Thursday, May 14, 2026, peacefully at home.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Roddy B. and Virginia Evans; as well as her siblings, Ralph, Mary Chasteen, Carrol, Bonnie Kate, Herman Lail and Barbara Evans. She is survived by her devoted husband of 74 years, Dennis G. Trivette; her son, Gregory “Keith” Trivett (Beth); 2 grandsons, Dexter M. Trivett (Heather) and Tristen M. Trivett (Megan); and her 6 great-grandchildren, Max, Mason, Teagan, Maddox, Micah and Mackenon.
Edith frequently focused on the needs of neighbors and others. She believed it was her Christian duty to do so. She served 27 years working for the Virginia Department of Health in Newport News, VA.
Edith and Dennis recently “retired” from DECADES of faithfully delivering Meals-on-Wheels on the Peninsula at the age of 92! Throughout their lives together, the couple enjoyed traveling far-and-wide on cruise ships, boating locally with friends and “Playing on the Beach” with their grandsons.
Edith’s smile and gentle manner will be missed by many.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Peninsula Memorial Park. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
