Randy Lane Wulitich, aged 71, passed away suddenly on May 6th, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Born on June 23rd, 1954, in Indiana, Randy leaves behind a legacy of dedication, service, and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Randy’s life was marked by honor and commitment through his distinguished career in the United States Navy, where he rose to the rank of Senior Chief before retiring. His service to his country was not just a profession but a calling, and in it, he found purpose and camaraderie. A proud member of The Chief’s Club and the VFW, Randy’s contributions to his country and his community were profound and far-reaching.
Though he often preferred the quiet reach of introspection, Randy’s passions spoke volumes. An enthusiast of fishing, hunting, and golf, Randy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His fascination with muscle cars and motorcycles revealed a zest for adventure, while his love of firearms reflected a respect for skill and precision. In quieter moments, he took comfort in classic films, his laughter echoing along with The Three Stooges and his imaginings lost in the stories of Westerns and horror movies.
Above all, Randy’s life was anchored in love—most profoundly shared with his late wife, Janet, whom he cherished deeply as the love of his life. He was a devoted father to his children, and his heart swelled with pride with each achievement of his surviving family: his beloved son Randy, his daughters Chris with her husband Keith, and Michelle with her partner Lucas, along with his treasured grandchildren, Carter, Tyler, Keaton, and Leila and his brother, George.
He is preceded in death by his wife Janet, his parents George and Gloria, and his siblings Barry and Lori. Though Randy has departed this world, his enduring spirit lives on in the hearts and stories of his family.
Per his request, no formal services will be held. Altmeyer Funeral Home considers it an honor to support the Wulitich family during this difficult time. In remembrance of Randy’s life, may we all cherish the stillness of nature, the roar of an engine, and the laughter that connects us all.
