Judy Nykamp Gill passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
Originally from Milford, New Jersey, Judy moved to the Hampton Roads area in the late 1970s. She quickly grew to love the area and made it her home for the remainder of her life.
Judy worked as a bookkeeper at various times throughout her career, bringing dedication and care to her work. In her personal life, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed quiet moments spent reading and especially cherished time with her family, playing card games and sharing laughter.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca Gill. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice Nykamp and Henry Nykamp, and her brother, Bruce Nykamp.
In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held. Her ashes will be returned to New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern Virginia.
Judy will be remembered for her quiet strength, gentle spirit, and the love she shared with those closest to her.
