Lynette Laucks Korahaes, 85, of Riverside Lifelong Health, Smithfield, VA, formerly of Suffolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 12, 2026.

She was born June 21, 1940 in Norfolk, Virginia, daughter of Henry and Eloise Laucks, and was predeceased by her husband, James Korahaes, sister, Nancye Petretto, and brother, Raymond Laucks.

She is survived by her three children, daughters Theresa K. Bowen (Tom) and Rhonda K. Gordon (Doug), both of Suffolk, Virginia, and son Steven J. Korahaes (Melanie) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandchildren, Amanda Schreiber (Seth), Joshua Korahaes (Ashley), Ashley LeGrand (Chris), Zachary Bowen (Chandler), Lauren Compton (Joe), and Alexis Wait (Justin); and fourteen great-grandchildren, Isabella, Keller, Fisher, Felicity, Arthur, Eli, Micayla, Cecelia, Liam, Eloise, Sebastian, James, Nori, and Foster.

Lynette grew up in Norfolk, Virginia and later moved with her family to Virginia Beach, where she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and treasured many happy times together. Annual family beach trips to the Outer Banks were a highlight of every summer for many years.

In addition to being a homemaker, Lynette was a long-time member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Sorority, Alpha Xi Chapter, where she served in many roles, including Chapter President. She supported the sorority in countless fundraising events, primarily in support of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Lynette will be remembered for her outgoing personality and fun-loving spirit. She always saw the best in people and showed kindness to everyone with whom she came in contact.

A viewing will take place between 10 and 11 am at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel in Virginia Beach, immediately followed by burial at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk, on Friday, April 24th, 2026. Please join the family for a celebration of life service at 2 pm that will be held at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1885 Bridge Road, Suffolk, VA.

Memorial donations can be made to the Children’s Heart Foundation, 5 Revere Drive, Suite 200, Northbrook, IL, 60062 in honor of her great-granddaughter, Felicity Bowen.

The family would like to thank home caregivers Madinah Cox and Ronda Harper as well as the devoted staff members in the assisted living and memory care units at Riverside for their many years of love and support of Lynette over the past several years.
