George passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia.
He is survived by his son, Antonio “Tony” Michael Monaco of Williamsburg, VA, and preceded in death by his son Christopher Nicholas Garcia.
He was married previously to Connie White and shared in raising their children Antonio, Carla White and Joey White (deceased). Survived by Brenda Lamb whom he shared many years with and raised their children Hannah Gayle Lamb, Chrystal Sweigart, and their son Christopher. He is survived by his grandchildren who called him PawPaw: Cory, Alana, Antonio, Anthony, Alivia, and Amilio (deceased).
George was born in Cheverly, Maryland to the late Antonio Garcia and Cecelia Monaco Garcia. He was the sixth of eight children and is survived by siblings: Cecelia Moore (Jim) of Odenton, Maryland, Antonio Garcia (Betty) of Annapolis, Maryland, Bernadette Tippett (Elmer) of Annapolis, Maryland, Ann Macomber (Alan) of Bowie, Maryland, John Garcia (Lois Jean) of Greenwood, Delaware, David Garcia of Saipan of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Michael Garcia (deceased).
George will be remembered for his smile, playfulness and delight in life. He had a wonderful “can-do” attitude and truly believed anything you put your mind to was possible. He lived a full life marked by love for his children and grandchildren. He was always there for family and friends and would go out of his way to help anyone in a time of need. His children and grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life for George will be held at a later date for family and friends to come pay their respects.
