Connie Maxine Ghee Taliaferro, 69, of Charles City, Virginia, entered eternal rest on February 16, 2026 at 12:37 PM.
Born on March 16, 1956, in Charles City, Virginia, Connie was the daughter of George Milton Ghee Sr. and Ora Elizabeth Ghee (Adkins).
Connie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle Taliaferro; her son-in-law, Martin Taliferro Jr.; and her cherished grandchildren, Major Taliaferro and Martin “Trey” Taliferro III. She is also survived by her siblings: Barbara Brown, George Ghee Jr., Benjamin Ghee, and Elliott Ghee.
A childhood member of New Vine Baptist Church in Charles City, Connie’s life was rooted in family, faith, and strength.
Connie worked faithfully for 18 years at The Candle Factory and 16 years at Smithfield Foods. She was known for her work ethic, her straightforward personality, and her unwavering resilience.
She was direct, truly “tell it like it is.” One of her favorite sayings was, “I will tell you straight up.” She loved Michelle’s pasta salad, enjoyed watching 90 Day Fiancé and Naked and Afraid, and found comfort in simple moments with family.
In her final days, Connie fought hard and with the same strength that defined her life. She did not give up easily. Even in illness, her will remained strong, and she continued to battle until the very end.
To know Connie was to know honesty, strength, and love shown through action. Her legacy lives on through her daughter whom she raised and grandchildren she adored.
