Susan Barrington Adair, age 77, of South Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Susan was born and raised in Clio, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Rudolph Carlisle Barrington Sr. and Margaret Jackson Barrington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Adair; her brother, Rudolph Carlisle Barrington Jr.; her daughter, Dana Leanne Rogers; and her granddaughter, Morgan Spires.
She is survived by her two children, Jennifer Spires (Jason) and Chad Rogers; three grandchildren, Cameron Spires (Madison), Luke Rogers, and Teagan Rogers; one great-granddaughter, Josie; two nieces; extended family members; and many dear friends.
Susan graduated from Clio High School in 1966 and continued her education at Palmer College in Columbia, South Carolina, graduating in 1968. She was a devoted homemaker who lovingly raised her children and later spent 20 years working as a dedicated caregiver.
She will be remembered for her love of the beach and good conversation. Some of her happiest times were spent on the dance floor, shagging to Carolina beach music. She treasured time with her family, and though we grieve her passing, we rejoice in knowing she is whole, healed, and home with Jesus.
Susan’s kindness, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Graveside burial will take place at a later date at Hebron Cemetery in Clio, South Carolina.
