Sharon Swift, 73, of Williamsburg

Sharon Swift (Bucktrout Funeral Home)

Sharon L. Swift, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 73. Born on August 2, 1952, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, Sharon lived a life full of love, family, and dedication to her community.

Sharon cherished her role as a grandmother, fondly referred to as a professional “Grammie,” and found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, Charlotte (12) and Joey (10). Her gentle spirit and nurturing presence were constants in their lives.

An avid reader, Sharon loved losing herself in books. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was an active member of both Wellspring United Methodist Church and Bulverde United Methodist Church.

Her green thumb was evident in her garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her plants. Sharon also had a deep affection for her cats, Charlie and Callie, who were her faithful companions. Cooking was another passion, and her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of her culinary creations. Music and singing brought her great joy, and she shared her love for these with those around her.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Gail Swift, and her niece, Courtney Swift. She is survived by her children, Hannah Dues and Micah Circe; son-in-law, John Dues; beloved grandchildren, Charlotte and Joseph Dues; brothers, Steven and Spencer Swift; sister, Sheila; and numerous nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.

A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at Wellspring United Methodist Church, with details to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Heritage Humane Society in Williamsburg or Bat Conservation International in Austin, Texas.
