Iva Miles, 86, of Charles City, Virginia, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Welton and Roxie Crawley; her beloved husband, Ernest Miles; and her brother-in-law, Henderson Smith.
Iva was born on December 10, 1939, in Richmond, Virginia. She attended and graduated from the Charles City County Public Schools. At an early age, Iva was baptized and later became a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church, where she joyfully lifted her voice as a member of the Senior Choir.
Throughout her life, Iva was a dedicated and hardworking woman who held multiple jobs. She first worked alongside her father at Lee Industrial, and later was employed with Holiday Inn and Garden Ridge. She retired from the Masonic Home of Virginia, where she served as a cafeteria supervisor.
Iva was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. She loved reading, singing, and dancing, and brought warmth and kindness wherever she went. Her family affectionately knew her as Iva, Auntie, and E.T. She especially cherished time spent with her nieces and always looked forward to their visits.
Iva leaves to cherish her memory, sister, Carolyn Smith; devoted nephew, Welton Smith, Sr. (Jamie); great nephew, Welton Smith, Jr.; great niece, Princess Smith; great-great nieces, Harmony Smith, Leilani Smith, and Ocean Smith; two devoted friends, Hope Crawley, and Roshell Green, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
