Jurgen Alvin Arthur Ruehle (74) of New Kent County, passed away on August 22, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Peru and raised in Davis, California, Jurgen moved to the east coast, finally settling in Virginia in 1981.
Jurgen worked hard and always put his family first. He poured his time into making his home on the river a beautiful gathering place for family. He loved art, working with his hands, collecting small treasures, and creating special multimedia pieces. Jurgen loved to travel and explore the United States. He enjoyed rock hounding, visiting state parks (and casinos!), and hiking.
Jurgen was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Janet Ruehle. He is survived by his children, Mary Ann, Hans, and Katerina; his siblings Heidi Strauss, Helga Jandera, and Ed Wellman; his partner Denise Norred; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Vincent Funeral Home in Providence Forge on Saturday, September 6th from 2-4pm.
