Marcia “Marty” E. Mamunes (Vincent Funeral Home)

Marcia “Marty” E. Mamunes, of Saluda, VA, entered eternal rest on August 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved daughter of the late Phil and Ruth Jenkins.

Marty’s life was marked by creativity, compassion, and community. A gifted artist and graduate of Averitt College, she shared her love of art, not only through her own work, but also as the owner and operator of her gallery on Cary Street, in Richmond, VA. Her art was an extension of her heart, and she touched the lives of many through her vision and talent.

Most recently Marty and Larry co-owned and operated River County Renovations for many years. Marty brought her artsy flare to the table of renovation, and Larry was able to bring the visions to life. She was known to have grand ideas for her clients, and Larry would roll his eyes reluctantly laboring to make the clients happy. They worked side by side, and made lifelong friendships with the families they serviced.

Marty was also a woman who loved connecting with others. Most recently, she found joy and companionship as a member of a local bridge club in Saluda. Her friendships, creativity, and generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Marty cherished her family deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Peter Mamunes, and other loving family members. She is survived by her partner, Larry Henderson; children, Christopher Easley (Jacqueline), Karen Shepherd, Diane Haupt, Peter S. Mamunes (Robin), and Kelsey Briggs (Devin); sister, Barbara Barbour (Charles); her treasured grandchildren, Samuel Easley, Sarah Easley, Jacob Easley, Robert Shepherd, IV, Logan Shepherd (Courtney), Lilah Mamunes, Dj and Liam Briggs, along with two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1PM Monday, September 8, 2025, at Beulah Church, 1539 E. Lewis B. Puller Memorial Highway, Saluda, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Beulah Church, Saluda, VA, a place of faith and community, that meant much to Marty.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, through her art, her kindness, and the beauty she brought to others.
