John Edward Berry II, age 71, passed away in his home on August 3, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Born in Seattle, Washington to the late Bette Brittan and John Edward Berry Sr., John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and proud Navy veteran.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Nancy Berry; his sons, John Edward Berry III and Sean Berry (wife Katherine); and his cherished grandson, Michael. He is also survived by his siblings, Paul Berry, Todd Berry, and Valerie Baars. His beloved cats, Peanut and Bess, were constant companions and held a special place in his heart.
John served 22 years in the United States Navy, a career he held with immense pride and dedication. His commitment to service, country, and family defined his life. Known for his unwavering love for his family, John was a steady, dependable presence—always ready with a kind word, a helping hand, or a quiet strength that reassured those around him.
John’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched with his integrity, loyalty, and selflessness. Whether sharing stories of his Navy days, tinkering around the house, or simply enjoying time with his loved ones, John found joy in the simple moments that truly matter.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
