Marc Anthony Phillips, 63, of Richmond

Marc Anthony Phillips, son of the late Ernest C. Phillips and Phyllis M. Phillips, was born on March 2, 1962, in East Orange, New Jersey. He slipped into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Marc joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church of East Orange New Jersey, at an early age under Pastorate of Rev. Russell Fox.

Marc received his primary and secondary education in the East Orange School System -attending Columbian Elementary, East Orange Middle School, and Clifford J. Scott High School. After high school he began working at CIBA – GEIGY as a lab technician and later at Novartis Pharmaceutical’s.
He then relocated to Richmond Virginia in 2006 and began working for American Airlines. Later he joined WestRock .

Marc was best known for helping people, whether it was helping with your car electronics or any technical project. Marc was also a jokester and known for pulling a good prank especially on his nieces and nephews. He was great listener and amazing friend. Marc was that guy, he was loved and treasured by so many.

Marc Anthony Phillips leaves to cherish his memory his son, Terell Adams of Richmond VA, sister Miachelle A. Phillips of Richmond VA, brothers Michael E. Phillips and Derrick C. Phillips of East Orange, New Jersey; seven nieces and nephews – Sherelle, Ashley, Michael Jr., Sherice, Donovan, Davionna and Darrius. His two aunts- Olivia Jackson of East Orange. and Monica Calder of St. Elizabeth Jamaica. His two special cousins – “Brothers” Irwin Jackson of East Orange and Anthony Ashley of Saint James Jamaica. A bonus sister- Shirley Carter of Tampa, Florida. His first cousins Howard, Jerome, Roy, DeWitt, Maurice, Amos, Kelvin, Tony, Eric, Dwight, Louretta, Regina, Wanda, Gail, Rosalind, Ivy, Pamela, Lisa, Denise, Darlene, Zara, Phillip, Ruth, Sharon, Maria & Leonard and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday July 19th at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th street, West Point VA. Burial will follow at the First Baptist Church of Hockley Cemetery, Shacklefords VA. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home

GOD, saw the road was getting rough and the hills were getting hard for Marc to climb; he took Marc gently in his arms and whispered, “Peace be Thine.” His weary hours and days of pain, his patient worn out frame; has finally found “Sweet Rest at Last”.
