Loretta M. Haden, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, in Williamsburg, Virginia. Born on February 2, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri, Loretta was the cherished eldest child of Albert and Dorothy Svaglic.
Loretta’s early years were marked by her education at St. Theresa’s Academy in Kansas City, Missouri, followed by her studies at the University of Kansas. Her life was a testament to creativity and warmth, known for her exceptional culinary skills and her talent for hosting memorable gatherings. Loretta’s passion for cooking and entertaining brought joy to all who knew her.
In her later years, Loretta discovered a love for golf, a sport she embraced with enthusiasm. Loretta also loved to travel, creating cherished memories with friends and family along the way.
Loretta was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 40 years, Curtis Allen Haden, her parents, Albert and Dorothy Svaglic, her sisters, Marilyn Laird and Denise Rucker, and her brother, Greg Svaglic. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by her daughter, Laura Vogt, and her husband, Kevin Vogt, her son, Ned Eddy III, and her grandchildren, Christian and Caroline Vogt.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Loretta’s journey and the indelible mark she left on those who knew her at Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home Wednesday December 11th at 10:30AM.
Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her vibrant spirit and the love she shared so generously. Loretta’s life was a tapestry of love and creativity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
