It is with great sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Syrayra D. Wynn, who left us on July 26, 2024, at the age of 42. Born on January 28, 1982, in Queens, New York, Syrayra lived a life filled with dedication, compassion, and an unyielding joy for connecting with others. She passed away in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Syrayra’s career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exemplified her deep-seated passion for caring for people. Her work in the nursing field was not just a job but a calling. She found immense fulfillment in helping others and had a natural talent for bringing comfort to those in need.
Beyond her professional life, Syrayra’s personal interests reflected her vibrant personality. Known for her love of conversation, she could strike up a chat with anyone, anywhere, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. One of her favorite pastimes was mimicking movies with her sister Tina, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and joy.
Syrayra’s laugh and strong hug were memorable, her big heart and huge smile inspiring all who knew her. She was a beautiful person inside and out, whose presence brought light and warmth to every room.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her sons, Nijay Wade of New York and Jeremiah Knowles of Virginia; her brother, Bishop Timothy Wynn of Florida; and sisters, Natarsha Wynn Allen of Connecticut, Shatina Wynn-Bridges of Virginia, Kenyatta Johnson of New York, Keisheena Johnson of New York, Nurookia Johnson of New York, and Janashia Hawkins of Virginia. She is also survived by her stepmom, Glenis Wynn of New York, and stepfather, Joseph Blount of New York. Her legacy continues through her nephews, Lavonte Wynn and Javon Wynn of Connecticut, Baby Dani of Virginia, Henry, Aydin, and Damilare; and nieces, Jaylene Wynn of Virginia, Tionna Wynn of US Army Germany, Ivonna Wynn of Connecticut, Christian Wynn of Florida, Lakeisha Walker of New York, Dynasty Rodriguez of New York, as well as Starion, Zanorah, Elizabeth, Mia, Keylasia. Syrayra’s memory will be cherished by a host of other loving and adoring family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Syrayra on Saturday, August 10, 2024, starting at 4:30 p.m. at Eternal Light Church of Mt. Vernon, New York. This will be a time to honor the wonderful woman who touched so many lives with her kindness, enthusiasm, and unwavering spirit.
Syrayra D. Wynn will forever be remembered for the love and joy she brought into the world. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
